This study utilized Korean Medical Panel data from 2015 to 2016. The medical use model (Dutton 's medical use model) was used to identify the influencing factors for patients who frequently use the emergency room.
As a result of the study, the elderly patients aged 65 and over, patients using cars and taxis, patients with colds, and emergency room use fees were included in the National Health Insurance Patients paying by the insurance company and patients using emergency room below hospital were statistically influential in frequent use of the emergency room.
Therefore, in order to reduce the number of patients using the emergency room, it is necessary to set the frequency of use for the multi-use patient, and then an active insurance administration is required. In the case of emergency patients, Before the emergency room is used, the patient flow should be adjusted in advance through telephone triage, etc., and copayment should be reset.
In the long term, Republic of Korea needs to run a mobile team that is working on emergency home care.
